Hope Gangloff’s Hip Beauties in Lush Environments
Artist Hope Gangloff’s pen and ink portrait illustrations document the lives of her closest friends while reflecting the varied emotions of young adults trying to cope with the current economic situation in America. Portraying both the subject’s pros and cons , theses illustrations are not visually accurate or realistic but instead define what Gangloff perceives to be the subjects true defining features.
In these works we can easily feel these individuals and feel for them. We feel for ourselves and the period we belong to. There is beauty, there is honesty, there is angst, and there is love.
